Supply Lists

The school supplies list for Ritchie Elementary for the 2025-2026 school year includes the following items organized by grade level:

If families need assistance with providing supplies, they are encouraged to contact the office staff for support. Additionally, tissues are always a welcome donation to the classrooms.

Required for ALL GRADES: Inexpensive corded headphones for Chromebooks labeled with student’s name.

*Virginia Tax Free Days are August 1 – 3, 2025

PRINT SUPPLIES LISTS

Kindergarten

#2 pencils (sharpened- total 12)
2 yellow highlighters
4 boxes of crayons (normal size) 24 in each box
12 large glue sticks
1 package of baby wipes
12 black dry erase markers (fine-point, thin)
Scissors with rounded tips (FISKARS are easiest for KG)
Pencil box (hard plastic for crayons, pencils, scissors)
Paint smock (an old adult t-shirt works well)
Bath-sized towel for rest time (no sleeping bags)
Backpacks (regular sized, without wheels)
Extra clothes (shirt, pants, underwear, socks, in a zippered plastic bag: Please label bag with student name)

First Grade

Second Grade

#2 pencils (sharpened- total 24)
2 boxes of crayons (normal size) 24 in each box
4 large glue sticks
8 black dry erase markers (bullet tip)
1 pair of scissors (you may use last year’s)
1 pack of 10 pencil-top erasers
1 3-hole zippered pencil pouch (no boxes please)
2 composition notebooks (100 pages each, wide rule Marble cover)
1 container of disinfecting wipes
1 box of tissues
2 cans of Play-Doh
1 box of quart freezer bags (no sliders please)

Third Grade

1 hard cover 1/2” 3-ring binder with clear plastic pocket on front cover
3 Composition notebooks, wide ruled (100pg each)
1 box of crayons (24ct)
1 box of colored pencils (12 count)
1 zippered fabric pencil pouch
1 pair of scissors (5” student scissors)
1 box of 8 or 10 ct. washable markers (thin or thick)
6 large glue sticks
#2 pencils (sharpened- total 24) – not mechanical
1 box skinny black dry erase markers
Donations welcome: glue sticks, dry erase markers, tissues, disinfecting wipes, plastic bags

Fourth Grade

#2 pencils (sharpened- total 24)
1 hand-held sharpener (no battery)
1 box of crayons (24-count)
4 large glue sticks
1 highlighter
1 zippered fabric pencil pouch (no pencil boxes)
2 wide-ruled Composition notebooks (100 pages)
1” hard cover 3-ring binder with pockets with clear plastic pocket on front cover
1 pair of scissors (label w/name with permanent marker)
4 thin black dry erase markers
1 pack 3x5 index cards
Donations welcome: tissues, plastic baggies (sandwich or gallon), pencil-top erasers, disinfecting wipes

Fifth Grade

1 box of markers (10 count, basic colors)
1 box of colored pencils (12 count)
1 box of crayons (24 count)
8 black dry erase markers-bullet tip (per semester)
1 pair of scissors
6 large glue sticks (per quarter)

1 poly-pocket folder for homework
1 fabric pencil pouch (no pencil boxes)
2 hard-covered, 1-inch, 3 ring binders with clear plastic pocket on front cover
1 pack of loose-leaf paper – wide ruled
1 pencil sharpener (handheld-no battery)
2 packs of 3 x 5 white index cards (100 ct. packs)
1 box quart size plastic zip bags – Last name A-M
1 box gallon size plastic zip bags – Last name N-Z
