Meal Reimbursements

What is a reimbursable meal, and different combo's?

What is a combo meal you may ask, or what is a reimbursable meal? A "Combo" meal is a Reimbursable meal recognized by the Federal Guidelines, for a combo price. A reimbursable meal consist of 5 components: 1 Entree ( Meat/Meat Alternative and grain component), 1 or 2 vegetables, fruit , milk.

Example of a full reimbursable meal: Cheese Pizza ( Meat/Meat Alternative, Grain Bread Component), 1/2 cup corn, 1/2 cup fresh veggie cup, 1/2 cup applesauce and milk.

All reimbursable meals MUST have a minimum of 3 of the 5 components- one of which Must be a fruit or vegetable choice to receive the combo price.

If the choices do not meet the Reimbursable Guidelines (Combo) the items will be charged separately as " Ala Carte" prices.

Ala Carte is known as " Extras" are items sold separately.

Students approved for Free or Reduced price meals MUST choose the minimum components of a Reimbursable Meal or they will be charged for "Ala Carte" items. If there is not extra money on the account, they will not receive the Ala Carte item/items.

SCHOOL BOARD POLICY STATES THAT ONLY 3 MEALS WILL BE PERMITTED TO BE CHARGED BEFORE A CHILD RECEIVES ONE ATLERNATIVE MEAL ON THE FOURTH DAY.

Each student is reminded when their lunch account goes into the negative. If I have an email address for the parent, I send out a charge email letter stating that the child has a negative balance in the cafeteria. Please make sure that your student/students lunch account stays current to avoid an alternative meal.

Parents can go on line and sign up on My School Bucks, and watch your child's account, without having to commit to paying on it, if you would prefer not to.
